2013 Rumbling Bald “BIG Champion of the Year Ryan Marshall”

Impressed by the abundance of accommodations, enjoyable golf course conditions and just the overall southern hospitality vibe given by the good folk at Rumbling Bald, the BIG Tournament returned to the Western NC mountains in back to back years. The first two rounds featured some stellar play from 2nd year man Ryan Marshall and 2011 BIG member brotha Paul Graham as they both registered +3 day one and +7 day two scores. Rounding out the feature group for the final round were two time BIG champion Tony “Tiger” Vaughn and future two time champ Larry “the bear” Alligood a mere few points back.

Spurred on by an early round EAGLE, the young pup raced out to a large lead and never looked back enroute to his FIRST BIG Stogey Championship. Ryan finished the day +4 and won by 3 points over his nearest competitors. It was certainly a well deserved victory that made both father (Rick we think) and son very proud. They are the first father-son duo to have their names engraved on the BIG Stogey Trophy.

The BIG was delighted to welcome into the brotherhood a couple of world class Newbies in 2013. Greenville’s finest, el’ Professor Kailash Khandke (aka KK) along with Florida transient Sir Benjamin Tucker. The 2013 BIG field expanded to 16 players this year as Larry, Stephen, Booker, Chris, Paul, Chuck, TonyLo, Rick, Ryan, Doug, Oglesby, Cuz, Scarboro and TonyV all made the trip.
