The Event Simply Known as THE BIG.

This site is dedicated to my brothers, cousins, in-laws, outlaws and great friends who make it a point every year (generally in late May with the blessings of their wives/significant others) to take a break from the stress and rigors of everyday life and come together with like minds to enjoy a low-key, spirit-filled, festive weekend of camaraderie, storytelling, libations, great food, sportsmanship and a common passion for the game of GOLF.

Special thanks to our wives/significant others who, in their infinite wisdom, recognize how precious the simple values are both in life and the BIG, and therefore are supportive and insist that we go take part in the gathering every year.

Our understated motto to this day remains – Friends in life, Brothers In Golf! Borrowing a line from one of my dear brothers living in Florida, what makes the BIG so unique and special is that its members all come from very different walks of life, yet when we gather together we simply become equal contributors to an incredible and unbreakable bond of brotherhood and unity. Everything just seamlessly falls into place as if it were meant to be. Well said TLo!

The founding members of the BIG started the brotherhood with a simple set of values: Say what you mean/mean what you say…treat your brothers in the manner you wish to be treated…don’t cheat, lie or steal (ok, maybe a little bit of lying is ok but if you get caught cheating…)…win with class, lose with dignity, leave the drama at home and the most important rule, Rule 35 – ENJOY THE GAME and each other!

These values have only grown stronger as the group has evolved and matured over the years, transforming the BIG into what it is today, an unbreakable and special bond of love among all of it’s members. I am proud to be a part of it.
